It’s the thickness of the grains in the silicone render topcoat. It creates a modern, uniform, textured look that’s durable and flexible.
It’s breathable, flexible, weatherproof, available in many colours, and low-maintenance. It outperforms older render systems and keeps your property looking modern for years.
No. Problems only occur with poor installation or the wrong system. When installed properly, EWI improves comfort, reduces bills, and protects your home.
Yes. EPS insulation is breathable. Combined with silicone render, it allows moisture to escape while keeping heat in.
EWI reduces heat loss through walls by up to 30–40%. For a solid brick wall, U-values improve from ~2.0 W/m²·K down to ~0.28–0.30 W/m²·K (an 85% improvement).
Yes. All EWI systems are finished with a silicone render topcoat.
Silicone render is pigmented through the topcoat, so it doesn’t peel or flake like paint. Colours typically stay sharp and clean for 10–15 years with minimal upkeep.
We recommend a silicone render system. It’s breathable, flexible, highly weatherproof, and comes in a wide range of modern colours. Unlike sand & cement or monocouche, silicone render resists cracking and won’t need repainting. It’s the best long-term choice for protecting and modernising your property.
They allow water in → damp, mould, and cold spots inside. They also weaken the wall. Replacing with silicone render seals and protects the property.
Bay windows are more exposed to weather and often weren’t reinforced properly. Cracks here cause leaks and cold spots. We strip them back, insulate if needed, re-board with cement boards, and finish with silicone render.
We take care of everything:
- Scaffold hire
- Skip hire
- Pipework adjustments
- Window overcills
- Verge trims
- Render application
- Final sealing and clean-up
So you don’t need to arrange anything else.
Silicone Render is a thin-coat render system that is applied on top of a base coat at just a few millimetres thick. Silicone render is a type of exterior wall coating known for its durability and weather-resistant properties.
Traditional renders are less flexible, making them more susceptible to cracking, whereas silicone’s elasticity minimises the risk of cracks. It is also breathable and weather resistant.
Silicone rendering stands out as a premier choice for exterior finishes due to its exceptional durability, weather resistance and flexibility.
The superior breathability and thermal properties help reduce damp and mild. This unique quality contributes to a healthier environment.
There is a huge range of colours on offer – you can choose the shade you want for the outside of your home.
With a huge choice of render colours available, you do not need to apply paint. But if you want to change the colour after a few years, then yes, you can paint over a silicone render. Choose the correct paint for the job – such as silicone resin paint.
The surface is finished with a layer of render that completely hides the insulation material. The outside of your home will look neat, stylish and refreshed.
Yes, by adding external wall insulation, you will reduce the amount of noise you can hear when inside your home.
The average property takes around seven days to complete.
External insulation is very effective at keeping your home warm without sacrificing any indoor space, however, it’s usually more expensive. Internal insulation is slightly cheaper, but it reduces the internal room space.
It is mostly used on buildings with solid walls, but if you’re not sure whether your building is a good candidate for external wall insulation, ask for a free survey.
